
McCarty, Michael James, 70, passed away on February 7, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife and college sweetheart of 49 years, Mary “Lou”; his wonderful sons Patrick (Megan) and Brian; his beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, and Claire; and numerous cherished friends. Michael graduated with a Master’s Degree from Xavier University. He was very personable, highly intelligent, and had a loving personality. His outgoing, and fun personality drew people to him and enabled him to be great at his sales profession of 33 years at Motorcraft – a Division of Ford. As a child in the 1950’s, he was recognized in the local newspaper as paperboy of the year in Anderson, IN. During high school, Michael was a basketball All Star. Later as an adult, he was very active in soccer. He became a referee and a referee instructor and was also named a Kentucky Colonel for his contribution to youth soccer in the state of Kentucky. Most important to him were his wife and children whom he loved and was very protective of both. A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, February 13th, at 1:00 pm at Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Race track Road, Odessa, FL 33556. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Residents of Carrollwood”, Carrollwood Care Center, 15002 Hutchison Rd, Tampa, FL 33625.
