Noreen Frans was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, daughter, and friend. She passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2021 after 65 years filled with love, laughter, and service. She joins in Heaven her parents, Moses and Margaret Perry, as well as her sister, Norma Foss, and her brother, Norman Perry.
Noreen was born March 8, 1956 in Providence, RI where she lived for 16 years before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, FL with her family. She attended the University of South Florida where she earned her Master of Science in Audiology degree and established life-long bonds with her cherished friends affectionately known as the “Ya-Yas.” Her life forever changed when she attended the 1974 Kentucky Derby and met the love of her life, Bo Frans.
Noreen and Bo married in December 1977 and enjoyed a 43-year journey together. They built their home of nearly 40 years in Tampa, FL before welcoming their only son, Sean Frans, in November 1982. She was a dedicated mother and wife who breathed love and life into all of the days they were fortunate to share with each other. Perhaps the greatest joy of her life was becoming a Nana and sharing her love and spirit with her grandsons, Hunter and Kyle Frans.
She was a renowned audiologist who boldly established and operated her own private practice for more than 25 years. Noreen later earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida where she remained for several years training doctorate students. Her professional passions were helping hearing impaired children and developing future generations of audiologists, and her influence on the lives of her patients and students will be felt for many years to come.
Always one to instigate a great time, she regularly shared her effervescent personality and culinary prowess to create unforgettable moments with her loved ones. She was the rock that her family and friends always relied upon to share both joyous and difficult times, and those she touched will never forget her.
Noreen is survived by her husband, Bo Frans, son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Stephanie Frans, and grandsons, Hunter and Kyle Frans. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, the Ya-Yas, and countless friends who will always treasure her memory.
