Mom
A beautiful heart stopped beating today
hands that worked hard all her life are at rest
It really broke our hearts to see and let you go
You asked us to let you go in peace, you told us what was best.
people say the memories we have are so wonderful
And I know in my heart that is so very true
But I have to say in loss and grief, selfishly I only wanted you.
Your life was filled with hard labour, giving and joy.
Your love for your family and friends was so deep and true
You did your best for all of us and told us what we needed to hear
Though our hearts are deeply broken we will never forget the presence of you
We sat beside you at your bedside begging you to stay
Our hearts were so confused, crushed, and sore
We did what you asked of us until the very end
Until you made it clear to us, we could no longer do any more.
In tears we watched you slowly leaving
As we watched your every breath fade away
And though our hearts were breaking
We knew you could no longer stay
There are no words to say how much we loved you
Our hearts cannot put into words how we felt or what to say
Only God know the pain we feel and the loss that is unreal.
We cannot explain how lonely our home feels without your presence today.

As I think of you Phyllis it puts a smile on my face. I will always remember our little social get togethers. Never a dull moment. You were a true inspiration and role model. "There is no pain so great as the memory of joy". Rest in peace Phyllis .

So many joyful memories of time spent with my fun-loving Aunt Phyllis. She loved family, loved a party, and she was a woman of faith who loved God. After a life well lived, she is in His hands. We are sad for ourselves, her family and friends, but have faith that she is happy today.

From hearing of Aunty Phyllis's passing we have all been very sad here in Waterford, Ireland. We absolutely adored each and everything about her .
Thankfully Waterford was her go to place for her birthday celebration every year for the past 20 years. We here in Waterford City are privileged to have got to Celebrate with her and be part of this amazing ladies life this year included.
For all she did for the Byrne Family as we grew up , for her generosity of spirit and love for all of us , both on her trips home to Ireland as well as trips to New York and Florida, we will never repay all she did for so many people.
I am privileged to say I had an Aunt like her , the Boss , the Matriach, the head Honcho . Our lives will be incomplete without her and we pass on our all love to you Lorraine , remembering John and Uncle Manny. To you Ed and all the kids in Tampa. Till me meet again , May her sweet soul rest in peace .
All our love always from Niall , Deirdre Peter and Niamh ( and our little angel , Miceal , waiting in heaven for a big cuddle ) til we meet again xxx

There are no words to express the heartfelt sadness we feel at the loss of someone so special. The esteem we hold for this beautiful lady is beyond words. Her generosity and love for our family is etched in our hearts. Our childhood is embedded in the love aunty Phyllis shared with us. She may be gone but will never be forgotten. Although she spent so many years in Florida, she was never long returning to her birth place. Ar deis De go raibh Ar a anam dilis.

I have so many wonderful memories of Phyllis I looked forward to her coming home each year and she always made sure she took Nuala and myself out for lunch. I use to collect her and Joan at Blackrock station and we went to the dropping well. She was kind very warm person always interested in what you were doing. She was wonderful to our son Colm when he was emigrating to the USA and he was pleased she came over for his wedding. Thank you Phyliss for your wonderful friendship your lovely smile we will never forget you. May you Rest in Peace

Lorraine, I am so sad and sorry to hear this. What an honor and pleasure it was knowing her. When I went to Ireland and called her she went out of her way to help us. She couldn’t stop talking about you and how proud she was of you. Heaven has certainly gained an angel.

Lorraine, your mother was a beautiful lady and I remember meeting her the first time, she left quite the impression on this old Kentucky born Irish fellow! She was quite the conversationalist and with lots of Irish wit, she kept things rolling along. May God bless and grant eternal rest to her and I shall hold her memory in my heart for the rest of my life and think fondly of her from time to time! You are blessed with her good looks and bright smile and of course her wit..
May God give you strength in the coming days and weeks to get through the loss of your precious mum!

My dear brother and sister in law,
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. She was a beautiful woman. When I came to visit you in Florida. I would sit and listen to Phyllis speak. I loved listening to her. She would picked on Lorraine and they would go back and forth. It would make me laugh. She loved my brother so much. The time I went to Phyllis home for dinner with Ed and Lorraine I never had whiskey on the rocks before. I had 2 boy I wasn't feeling any pain. She will be missed. Love you believe lady. Until we meet again.
