

LAGOR, Raymond was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Tampa, Florida at the age of 92. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who understood the importance of family. The values he taught us through the life he led were blessings to all who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great storyteller. He will be missed.
Ray leaves behind his wife, Joyce, and a large family that loved him dearly. He was a father of 6, grandfather to 13 and great grandfather to 29. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Patricia, as well as his son, Raymond, and daughter, Mary. He is survived by his children Frank, Bill (Teresa), Kate Thibault (Chuck), and Tammy Orselli (Tim).
Ray is survived by his sisters Rosemarie Klucznik and Marion Kulik. He was preceded in death by his siblings Lillian Eichholz, James, Charles, Lawrence, Roberta Vernon, and William.
Ray had a distinguished 20-year career in the US Air Force and retired with the rank of MSGT. At the start of his career in 1953, he was the NEOC Boxing Tournament’s Light Middleweight Champ held at McAndrew AFB. He was named NCO of the year at Webb Air Force Base in the 1960’s. He also conducted a weekly TV program. He had a one-year tour of duty in Bangkok Thailand. This was followed by an assignment to Hickam Air Force Base where he was responsible for a computer programming unit for Southeast Asia. The latter included a 90-day temporary duty assignment to Vietnam during the war. After his military career, he was a computer programmer for 10 years at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida so that his children could attend college. He then went on to help build and become president of the computer division, Custom Business Systems, of NuAir Windows and Doors in Tampa, Florida. He retired from his third career after 20 years.
Ray loved sports and played softball, golf, bowling, racquet ball, and boxing. He was also a Little League Baseball manager. Ray was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Deland, Florida including past Grand Knight and District Deputy.
The family will gather with friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 26th at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood in Tampa. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, April 27th at St Paul Catholic Church in Tampa.
