Horrible horror movie night every Sunday was always a blast when you were there.   Lots of funny times.   You will be missed and remembered 

I met you in 2004 at the pegasus we were immediate friends then became coworkers ill miss our jokes at each other and i hope you rest in peace 

I have so many memories with Ray ever since i started going to the peg in 2008. We would always song bring me to life together. Even after years of not going to karaoke he still remembered me and asked how life was treating me. I'm so glad i got to sing with him on his night of retirement and gave him a big hug. I will truly miss Laser Ray and all his jokes and moody nights lol. One more *CLAPPING* for you

I’m not sure where to start Dad. It only took me about 20 years to start calling you that, but regardless of the title I gave you, you have always been my father. From the time you first came into my life, organizing my room and toys at the age of 4/5, to helping me with my homework, driving me to and from school, helping me buy my first car, driving my friends and I around so that we wouldn’t drink and drive, bugging me to get into the medical field, having a background check done on my then boyfriend and now husband, and finally to helping me pay for school, you were always there. You have been my father in every way that mattered, and I wish I had appreciated that more every time I hit “ignore” when you called. Those 2 minute conversations always turned into a MINIMUM of 20 minutes (on a good day 😅), but it is of course now that hindsight is 20/20, and I wish that I had hit ignore a little less often. We had our trials, and we definitely had our disagreements, but through it all, I always knew you loved me. You didn’t have to. There was no obligation to since I wasn’t your blood. Yet you did. You weren’t the overly gushy type with words of affection...that clearly wasn’t your love language. But you showed me you loved me countless times. And in the past few years, you said it, at the end of almost every conversation, you uttered the words “love ya”. In the last couple of weeks, everytime a nurse, doctor, and even the dieticians, walked into your hospital room, you told them how proud of me you were. What a fantastic job I was doing not only as your caretaker, but in life. You made sure everyone knew you loved me, you were proud of me, and that I was a NP. More to the point, you made sure I knew it. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was watch you slowly pass away. I wish I could have saved you from that. But I am glad that it gave us the opportunity to laugh with you, and love you. You will live on and you will always be loved.

Sharing good times with our dear friend Lazer Ray and sending condolences to his Family!

Ray, we met a decade ago at the old pegasus. I spent so much of my youth there doing karaoke. You always came up and encouraged me to sing when I was being shy! 
The Pegasus and Karaoke will not be the same without your smiling face, your conversation and encouragement! 
You were the best DJ jockey in the Bay area and will be forever missed! Rest Easy my Friend! 

I met Ray 19 years ago when I first started singing karaoke.  He inspired me to become a better singer and taught me a lot.  We became friends and had a lot of fun golfing together over the years, even though he always blamed me for his poor play!  I saw and talked him nearly every week over the last 19 years and I will miss our political arguments.  He was the best karaoke jockey in Tampa and I will miss him dearly.  Rock in peace Ray!

Ray we had 29 years together, some good some bad but bottom line we always had love for each other. It wasn't till you passed that I realized how many lives you had touched and made a difference.  When we lost our beautiful son Jacob to suicide it devastated us to the point that losing him and other personal matters that we just couldn't get past it and decided to divorce. The funny thing is we had the BEST relationship afterwards, you even came over and watched the Super Bowl with me. I feel blessed that I was holding your hand when you took your last breath, I had a dream the night before that Jacob was standing w/ lights all around him, I woke up and told you Jacob was waiting on you.  Thank you Ray for instilling Kimberly that with dedication and drive you could do anything. And Ray you gave me the best 18+ years of my life with our Jacob. I LOVE YOU Ray just be there with Jacob when it's my turn to pass. 

To my dear friend Ray,

Thank you for the years of laughter, politics, and tomfoolery.

I met you by happenstance and our relationship grew over the years despite the generation gap. We always found humor in our differences and we were able to find common ground in our beliefs and that is what defined our friendship. 

I cherish the days you called me to say you were just going to take a few minutes of my time and ended up taking over an hour.  On some days, those hours were a welcome distraction to a day gone bad and for that I am grateful. 

Forever I will remember our adventures tailgating at Bucs games, losing to you at Rummy (you never taught me your top secret to winning like you promised), and post-game shenanigans which should never be discussed. 

I will always remember you and cherish you as a dear friend who may have appeared to be grumpy but always had the energy to provide for your family and entertainment for me an your fans. 

I will see you soon my friend.

My condolences go out to Rays family and friends. I know that he will forever be in the hearts of all that came to his Karaoke shows. He was a legend in our industry. But on a personal note he was an amazing friend who always looked out for those close to him. I know my life is better because he was in it. His laugh was infectious and his humor always made my day. My respects and condolences to his family and closest friends. Ray was humble, non-judging, caring and a hard working individual. I didn't know you as long as a lot of others did.  But you made me want to sing karoke.  You made everyone smile and feel comfortable.  God Speed my friend.  Fly to the Angels.

Though Rachel and I only knew Ray for a short while after meeting him at the Pegasus Lounge(the old one)in 2008,he was one of the select few who were there that Christmas Eve when I met Rachel for the first time. Hard to believe I lived in Zephyrhills for over 10yrs(3 blocks east of R.B Middle School)and was unfortunate to meet him sooner. He was a classy person who stood by his beliefs while still allowing others to believe in theirs. Will always remember his jokes and that great smile of his. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends!

Ray, me & Susie are fortunate enough to have a million joyous memories with you in them. I can't tell you much you will be missed. We spent so many nights over so many years having fun and singing along side you that we will never forget. You are a part of our story forever. And you have touched so many lives that I know many will say the same thing. Thank you for your kindness, your heart, and your genuine love of people. 

Lazer Ray where do we begin our journey! In  January 2002 you walked into my life. You walked into Pegasus during a pathetically slow Karaoke show and sarcastically told me you could do better for me.  We began our excursion immediately.   We had our trials and tribulations over the 19 years.  We loved to love almost as equal to love to hate.  We are both very strong minded individuals that easily butted heads.  The one thing we always made sure is we never ended a conversation until both parties got their say and always walked away friends.  Even though many times it took hours on the phone.   Your loyalty and dedication to me and our business Pegasus Lounge was never unnoticed.  I'm eternally greatful for your friendship and employment with me.  I sincerely love you and miss you like crazy already!! See you on the other side. 

Fly high my friend. Ray was the first KJ I ever did karaoke with. For a awhile we went to just about every one of his shows. Uncle Fats was our usual place though, but no matter where we were here knew he had signers and we always had a blast.  If course the best ones were at his and Rainy's place. I actually still have one of his original song books that had all the songs I dang highlighted in it that was given to me by Ray and Rainy at my going away party 30 years ago.  You were a great man, entertainer, and mostly a friend. You will be missed my friend. Peace and love to your family!

I am so sad to hear of Ray’s passing. I knew Ray from many years ago. He used to KJ at Uncle Fat’s when I was MUCH younger. He was always happy to see me because he knew he had a singer if he needed one. He was a good man and a funny man and friend.  I knew Rainey and their little one at the time. They were also great people and you could see how happy their family was. All very talented.. I lost track of Ray over the years but it kind of came around full circle once my son who went to Pegasus and told me about the KJ there named Laser Ray and I was like wow. How crazy my son is hanging out with the same KJ I did in my youth. I could kick myself for not going down and seeing him. My thoughts and prayers going out to his family and friends during this most difficult time. You will be missed my friend. 

I had the pleasure of knowing Ray since I became friends, well sister to Kimberly. Ray never failed to make me laugh, shock me with his off the wall thoughts, reach out to see how I was doing, and keep me on the phone for hours. I have many memories of long nights playing cards on the back porch, going to Disney with the family, and singing karaoke so many nights. He will be missed greatly! To his family: I hope that you all cherish all of the memories you have shared with Ray throughout your lives. May you all find peace and always remember that he loved each of you dearly. Love you all!

Ray or as I know him as Lazer Ray was the first KJ I ever sang for at the old Pegasus Lounge. I remember that he said he was having some issues with a window switch in his van not working right. I was going to the junkyard later that weekend anyways. Got him the part and put in for him. He was so appreciative of that I will not forget. I remember helping him set up and tear down is equipment sometimes at the old Pegasus and some of the conversations that we had. Talk about what's going on in life what we did that week and what was going on in the world. You know the usual stuff you talk with people. I remember how much he loved to talk about golf. I remember just about all the times he sang "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. A few weeks ago I actually heard My Way and I thought about Ray. I miss you Ray. I think about you when I sing Johnny Cash or Avenue Q.

We are Patricks parents and Kimberlys In-Laws, although she is our daughter. We met Ray the first time at kimberlys nurses cerimony, he was polite, friendly and we could tell he had a good sense of humor. after the cerimony we went to dinner and had a delightful time.we didn`t get to see much of him because he was usually working. unfortunetly the next time we saw Ray, was at Jacobs service. He was a broken man, our hearts went out to him and Rainy  and Kimberly, there was so much love between this family, anyone could see this. a very bad time for friends and family. as time went on we saw ray once or twice at patrick and kims, again we had a nice visit, he seemed happy. this was good to see. all we can say is , We will miss you, Ray.you were quite a gentlemen. God bless you, and give our love to Jacob.

Ray, we've known each other for almost 20 years, and nothing I can say can sum up a friendship that long. I first stepped foot onto your Karaoke stage in 2003 at the original Pegasus location. We've been through the Brass Mug, Two Pegasus locations, and The Manhattan in South Tampa together on the Karaoke circuit. At one point I was spending 3 nights a week singing with you, which is more time than I spent with my own family. We've been through good songs and bad songs, I've moved to Nashville and Back and then back to Nashville again... You've helped me entertain every woman I dated in Tampa, and put up with all the stupid songs I'd sing for so many years, from The Bad Touch to Gay Bar to I'm on a Boat... but I'd always be happy to sing Johnny Cash and Tom Petty for you every night as well. I'm sad that I'm 700 miles away and haven't been around more than a handful of times in the last 6 years, but seeing you, singing with you, and helping you break down the equipment always were highlights of my week. I miss you old friend, and I always will cherish our time together.
