

Robert Alan Everingham, 88, died on Sunday, November 14th. He was born in Robinson, IL, on May 14, 1922. While still in grade school he moved to Clearwater Beach where his family operated the Everingham Pavilion. Bob graduated from Clearwater High School and attended the University of Florida at Gainesville where he was a brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served in the 8th Air Force during World War II and was stationed in London. After the war he met and married Grace Corral and moved to Tampa. He operated the Chick Inn restaurant in Clearwater and then worked as a convention manager at the Tampa Terrace Hotel. He was a former member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla and the Tampa Yacht and Country Club. He is survived by his daughter, Allyson, and son-in-law, Dennis Sheckler, of Cambridge, MA, his grandson, Robert Sheckler of Union, NJ, his granddaughter Christina Sheckler of Claremont,CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Tampa, Monday, November 22, 10:00 a.m. with interment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park immediately following. The family suggests donations to Metropolitan Ministries.
