Robert J Osborne

Robert John Osborne, Sr passed from this world on Wednesday June 13th. 2018. “Bobby” was born January 18, 1940 to the proud parents of John and Luella Osborne in Lake Waukegan, Illinois. The Osborne family settled in Tampa, Florida in the late1940s. Growing up Bob and his brother Fred, often enjoyed playing on the Hillsborough River, camping, fishing, and crafting homemade canoes to try to sail down the river. As a teen and young man, “Bob” graduated from Hillsborough High School and went in to the Air Force. Bob and Joan met on a blind date and have been together for over 50 years.

Bob’s professional career included serving in the Air Force, managing a Florida DOT inspection station, and 31 years with the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Department. Known by his friends as “Ozzie” enjoyed fishing, boating, Ray’s baseball, tinkering, the outdoors, and keeping up with friends and colleagues at the HCSD.

Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and spoiling his two grandchildren.

Robert John Osborne, Sr is predeceased by his parents, John and Luella Osborne, his beloved brother Fred Osborne, and his loving sister Jackie Brown. He is survived by his wife, Joan. His son, Robert Osborne (Kellie), his grandchildren, Chloe and Evan. His sister-in-law, Ginger (Richard). His niece Dana (Steve) Signor and nephew Jeff Osborne, His brothers-in-law David (Jackie) Ridley and Doug Cleeg. Plus many more loving cousins, great nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends.
