Ronald and I served in the Air Force together.We had some great times and some scary times. I always knew he had my back no matter the situation. He will be greatly missed.

Ronnie was a guy who never met a stranger and he could really be the life of any gathering he was part of. We were friends for well over 60 years and a TRUE FRIEND he was. He will be greatly missed. Ron was the BEST of the BEST with a HUGE heart of pure gold.   Having worked both for him and with him throughout many years, I admired and respected him deeply.  I would give anything to be able to travel there for his service but unfortunately cannot. Sending love, prayers and positive energy to all of his family and friends. Ron was one of the most loving, generous, inspirational and fun people I have ever known. His heart was as big as Texas and he always led by example...what a pleasure it was to know him...I am a better person today because of Ron...rest in peace Mr. Fortune!!!

I remember Ronnie as a veteran (war hero to us kids) with a cool car, and always time for me and my friends who ran around the creeks in our boats. He was always good to us, as were Nita and Mr.and Mrs. Fortune. My condolences to the family.

Ronnie and I lived across the street from each other when we were little kids and have remained friends until the end.. we both shared "the love of toys" (cars, motorcycles,and guns)so we talked about those things and old times when we could. I am sure that he will be missed greatly by many people.

When I think of Ron, I think of his love for for his family, love for fast cars and real zest for life.  Ron was the only person I know that put mag wheels and dual exhaust on a company car!
