Rosalie Cianci Piloto, 82, passed away surrounded by her family on July 18, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Constance (Tina) Cianci and James J. Cianci.
As a child, Rosalie moved with her family to Tampa, where she attended Chamberlain High School. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she studied to become a beautician. Rosalie was known for her impeccable sense of style and grace—always dressed with care and an eye for fashion. She had a lifelong love of beauty and was rarely seen without her hair perfectly styled and her nails done just right.
Rosalie married her high school sweetheart, George Piloto, after falling in love with him when she heard him sing and play the saxophone in his band, The Mad Men, at her Sweet 16 birthday party. They were married for nearly 62 years before George’s passing in 2024.
Rosalie worked for Tampa Bay Pediatrics (now Pediatric Health Care Alliance) as an office manager and later in insurance for Florida Perinatal Associates. In addition to her career, she had her hands full raising four children and lived wholeheartedly for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosalie was the heart of the family—an ever-present supporter who never missed a graduation, recital, sports game, or wedding.
She loved to cook for her family, especially her Sunday pasta and sauce. Rosalie also had a deep love for dogs, enjoyed painting, and loved to travel with George. She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and was a faithful follower of Christ, loving and kind to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; and her daughter, AnnMarie Piloto. She is survived by her children, Jimmy (Melony), Alicia, and George; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Shannon), Gabrielle (Michael), Shelby (Payton), Sophia, and Olivia; and her great-grandchildren, Lillie, Johnny, Rocco, and Mila. She is also survived by her sister, Lucille; brothers, Jim (Gwen) and Tino (Kathy); and sister-in-law, Cecilia (Rick). The family offers special thanks to Rosalie’s longtime caregiver, Susan Diodonet, for her loving care and companionship.
A wake will be held on Monday, July 28, with visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home – Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. The burial will take place on Tuesday, July 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Centro Asturiano Cemetery Memorial Park, 5400 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610.
