Sandra Coble Valerius age 73, born in Wilmington, NC January 10, 1946, passed away at her home in Lutz, FL December 24, 2019. She and her parents moved to Tampa in 1958 and she graduated from Robinson High School in 1964. Sandi worked for TECO as a telephone operator, later working as a bus driver and teacher’s aide at Seminole Presbyterian School. She retired in 2007 as a home health billing specialist from University Community Hospital. She enjoyed attending her sons’ and then later her grandson’s baseball games. Sandi loved reading a good book, baking, shopping, quilting, spending time in the North Carolina mountains, and visiting with family and friends. She loved her dogs. Over her adult life, she had 6 golden retrievers and rescued 1 Australian shepherd.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents David and Rowena Coble. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years Thomas E, sons Ryan Valerius, wife Kammie, David Valerius, wife Stacie and 4 grandsons Cole, Cade, Easton, and Eli.
A family visitation will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm, followed by a funeral service at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W Fletcher Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. The burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL 33513.
The family would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful help and care given by Tampa Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center and Seasons Hospice. In lieu of flowers, we ask for memorial contributions to Moffitt Cancer Center or Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church.
