Stan and family, Sorry I missed this notice. Sue was and always will be dearly loved by the Ray family.  I did not know her very long and maybe not very well, but, I know she was a beautiful person and truly one of God's angels.  I can picture her now in heaven with her cousin Walter Ray, III talking up a storm. I am sure you miss her but please be comforted by the fact that she is in Heaven with God and no longer suffering.

Sorry I missed this notice. I have known Sue since Seminole elementary school.  Last saw her at a Christmas special at Idlewild Baptist.  My sincere condolences to the family.  James Lee Riddick  HHS Class of 1958

One memory?  Impossible.  Aunt Sue was my second mom.  We spent most weekends at her house with sleep overs at least once a month.   Although I can sum up her legacy to me in one word - Joy.   She was so caring and  sweet, which always seem so cliche when describing a person, but Aunt Sue embodied those characteristics in every fiber of her being.   There is one event that for some reason sticks out to me; which again is difficult due to how close our families were growing up.  I sprained my wrist at school and had a splint put on it.  My mom had to attend a meeting and my dad was still at work.  Mom dropped me off at Aunt Sue’s while she went to the meeting.  For some reason Uncle Stan, Duane and Keith were not there.   It was just Aunt Sue and me.  I had math homework due the next day, but I couldn’t write due to my wrist.  She sat with me made me work out the problems  and wrote down the answers.   I had Aunt Sue all to myself.  She stopped what she was doing and just spent the time with me.  I think she was making dinner, so sorry Uncle Stan, Duane and Keith dinner was late than night because of me! LOL.   Love you Aunt Sue.   

My deepest, heartfelt condolences to the Benton family. 

   When I think about my aunt I think about the things I learned from her example. Just a few...
Generosity- she once sold us her house as a rent to own when we couldn’t get a loan on our own. 
Compassion and giving of yourself- I remember her taking care of elderly neighbors when I’m sure she had plenty to do with her own family to keep her busy. 
Laugh often- as kids this was tested as Keith and I would repeatedly “dig to China” in the back yard, holes everywhere. 
Sometimes you just need to laugh at yourself- she had a blue Toyota but she could never say Toyota. It was always Toy- yogi and said with a trilling  laugh.      

     She had a great laugh. She loved life. She loved her family. I was blessed to have her as my aunt. She’ll be missed but her legacy lives on in the things I learned from her. 😘

We will miss you sweet smile and your laugh! We sure did enjoy the yard sale mission we would go on when you would come up to visit, and O YES some of the best  FISH FRY'S we had!  and how you and I would laugh over who could eat the most fish tails.  Uncle Pete we are always here for you and love you very much!  Aunt Sue we love you and will miss you dearly and we will always keep you in our hearts.

My dear Aunt Sue.  Such a beautiful, sweet, kind-hearted lady. Always a beautiful smile & demeanor about her. She was kind to everyone she met.  She had a heart for God & she loved Jesus. She  loved her family with every bit of her heart. She liked trying  new recipes & sharing them. I will always remember her sweet laugh, which she did often when she was among loved ones.  Aunt Sue you will be greatly missed. We will miss you & keep loving you, always. You take our love & a piece of our heart with you. Until we meet again at Heaven's Gate...

My sister tried hard to keep me out of trouble, but was not always successful.haha  I once asked her to cut my hair. We both got into BIG trouble when she obliged with bangs less than 1 inch long 😂We all have lots of special memories with my kids (Shari and Ross) and hers (Keith and Duane).

She will be missed by her husband Stanley A. Benton, sons; Duane A. Benton (Debaney) and Keith E. Benton, granddaughter Delaina, step grandchildren; Britaney (Joe) and Kyle (Laci), 4 step great grandchildren, sister Ella Mae Myers; several nieces, nephews and friends who will cherish her memory.
