Susan was born and raised Tampa, Florida and graduated from Plant High School. Afterward she attended Florida State University where she member of Phi Mu Sorority graduating in 1981. Afterward she graduated from the University of Georgia with an M.A. in Child and Family Development.
Shortly afterward, Susan joined Northwest Airlines as a flight attendant based in Detroit and Boston. While employed at Northwest she met her husband Louis Leinhauser, where they married in Tampa in 1989. Susan worked in the temporary personnel industry finding people employment.
In 1996, she gave birth to a son, Jacob Michael Leinhauser. Afterward, Susan was a prolific volunteer with her church, schools and various organizations and charities that she continued to do until her passing.
Susan was a devout Christian; She and her family are longtime members of Bay Hope Church in Tampa.
She was preceded in death by her father James Donald Kelley, her mother Voncille Day Kelley, a brother Gregory Steven Kelley. She is survived by her loving husband Louis John Leinhauser, son Jacob Michael Leinhauser and brother James Ronald Kelley.
The family will receive guests at Blount and Curry Funeral Home - Carrollwood on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral services for Mrs. Leinhauser will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will take place following the service at 1:30 pm Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
