Terry Jon Schrader

SCHRADER, Terry Jon "TJ" died at his home at the age of 68 in Tampa, Fl. on February 29, survived by his wife Fran of more than 30 years, two children, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his father Paul, brothers Bill and David, and sister Susan Chrzan. TJ's early career was in route sales but he later changed direction after receiving his bachelors degree from the University of Central Florida. He retired in 2009 from the State of Florida after serving as a middle and high school English teacher in the Volusia County school system and later as a university admissions and financial aid officer and assistant director at UNF, FAU, and USF. All who knew TJ well knew that his passion was helping and guiding thousands of students and prospective students achieve their dreams through education. He enjoyed using his dry wit on family and friends and watching sports, especially college basketball and football. TJ, a lover of nature, enjoyed feeding backyard birds, sitting on his river dock, and the many boating experiences on the Hillsborough with his good friend Wayne. He loved his four cats and the many feral cats he fed on a daily basis on his front porch. A celebration of life service will be held at the Lifepath Hospice Melech House Chapel located at 11125 N. 52 St. Temple Terrace, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. Donations in TJ's memory may be made to a wildlife conservation organization or Lifepath Hospice.
