

Born Tina Marie Gardiner on June 26, 1962, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, she brought beauty and kindness into the world from an early age. On October 3, 1998, Tina met the love of her life, Loren T. Schmidt, and the two were married exactly one year later on October 3, 1999, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Their bond was a testament to love, partnership, and shared dreams.
A gifted cosmetologist and hair stylist, Tina poured her heart into her craft, eventually founding and owning Get’n Snip'y Hair Salon in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Her passion was transforming her clients’ appearances while uplifting their spirits, leaving each person feeling beautiful and valued. Known for her caring and thoughtful nature, Tina was cherished by her clients, coworkers, family, friends, neighbors, and community.
Tina was a natural artist with a flair for drawing, sketching, and painting. Her creative spirit extended to her love for nature, where she found joy in nurturing plants and animals. In her later years, she developed a passion for photography, capturing the beauty of the world around her with a keen and loving eye.
Tina and Loren shared a special bond with their beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Cricket Theodore Schmidt, who was their faithful companion for 17.5 years. They embraced Cricket as their son, showering him with love and care. His playful spirit and unwavering loyalty brought immense joy to their lives, and Tina’s nurturing heart shone brightly in the way she cherished him.
Tina was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Joyce Ann Johnson (née Simpson), and her brother, Richard Louis Gardiner.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Loren T. Schmidt; her brothers, Albert Jerome Gardiner and William “Billy” Eugene Gardiner; her sister, Kathleen Mae McCoy; and her half-brother, Joseph Wolff.
Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation and reception will be held on November 2, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, located at 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL, 33618, United States. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
