Born on September 19, 1951, in Guantanamo Cuba, to Gloria and Eugenio Perez. Lovingly known as Tommy by everyone. At the young age of 19 years old he resided in Chicago, IL. This would be his early start as an American and wasting no time to fully embrace freedom and liberty. Having inherited an entrepreneurial spirit he set paths for himself that would open up many doors of progress. Tommy never looked back at the tough decisions made to leave all of his family behind on the island he adored. In his newfound journeys he received immense support and help from both strangers, friends and acquaintances, impacting him for the rest of his life. Among the personal endeavors his purpose in life would become one of generosity and service. Of the many businesses established in Chicago and in Tampa, Florida he was most proud of Tommy’s Wholesale. Continuing a family legacy, this is an establishment in Ybor City where his dedication of over thirty years made this a business serving the Tampa Bay community and surrounding areas. The hard work and sacrifices in the business parallels equally to the exemplary role model he stood for. As a man of few words, he firmly believed in actions. Many revered him as an inspiration through his generosity, thoughtful advice, purposeful decisions and unwavering faith. The epitome of a family man, he never forgot the roots of his beginnings; the FAMILY - both immediate and distant members. His devotion to family was his priority. It served as a framework for understanding life's meaning, moral conduct, and community. Sacrificing all for his loved ones by being a provider to them was an obligation he voluntarily assumed with dignity and pride. His pursuit was clear, whereby he envisioned the well-being of family members well into future generations.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
