Tony Licata "Nano", age 91, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Tony was born in Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Licata, his mother Theresa DiMarco Balza, stepfather Danny Balza and his loving wife Marta Saavedra Licata. He is survived by his children Karen Owens (Paul), Brenda Thibodeaux (Ned), Toni L. Licata (Frank Williams) and Ken Licata(Sharon). He has five grandchildren and six great grandchildren who he deeply adored.
Tony was a graduate of O.L.P.H. in Ybor City where he played football. Tony attended some college , but his career led to the position of Fire Rescue Chief for the City of Tampa. After retiring from the Fire Department, Tony began his business as a real estate appraiser, eventually retiring at the age of 72.
Tony's favorite things besides traveling with his wife was enjoying his family. He also enjoyed a meeting weekly with the "guys" and his son at the Arco Iris Cafe or West Tampa Coffee Shop.
He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered by his favorite Sicilian phrase, "Ca ma ffari?" ( What can I do? )
