Urel Ritter Jr.

Urel was born on July 1, 1933, to the late Ethel Davis Ritter and the late Urel Ritter, Sr. in Charlotte, NC. After graduating from Burke High School (Charleston, SC) in 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 31, 1951. He served 20 years in the Air Force being Honorably discharged on August 30, 1971.

In 1955, he met Elizabeth Middleton and they wed five months later on September 18, 1955. Urel and Elizabeth raised five children, the late Jacqueline Ritter Ormond, Rosalind R. Ritter, Gwendolyn P. Ritter-Randolph, Urel Ritter, III, and Termall D. Ritter.

Urel was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Urel Ritter, Sr. and his eldest daughter, Jacqueline Ritter Ormond. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Elizabeth Middleton Ritter; children - Rosalind R. Ritter, Gwendolyn P. Ritter-Randolph (Gerald), Urel Ritter, III (Debbie), Termall D. Ritter; grandsons – Jarryd and Jacob Randolph; sister – Hazeline Perry, and sisters- and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends too numerous to name.

A visitation for Urel will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home @ Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. A graveside service will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
