Virginia Ann Ryan

Virginia "Ginny" Ryan, 80 of Tampa, FL. passed on December 31, 2024 after a short illness. She was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, studied at Ruston Academy in Havana, Cuba before moving with her family to Miami, Florida in 1960. She received her Masters of Social Work from Florida International University. She enjoyed water skiing, boating and disco dancing in her younger days. After moving to Tampa following Hurricane Andrew in South Florida, Ginny had a proud career helping others as a Real Estate Broker Owner of Aquila Realty, with her husband Bill Ryan, during which time she served as a past President of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors (GTAR). She served the Tampa community as a Guardian Ad Litem and supported underprivileged children's organizations. During her final years, she spent precious time with her great friend, Orlemide Raymond. Ginny is predeceased by her husband, William W. Ryan, USAF (d. 2003); sister-in-law, Kathy Gonsalves (d. 12/19/2024); father, George Vincent Gonsalves (d. 1988); mother, Mary Marjorie Gonsalves (d. 1990). Ginny is survived by her son, Michael Ryan; daughter, Connie Ryan, grandchildren Elena Guzman and Noah Guzman; brothers, Douglas Gonsalves (Miami) & George Gonsalves (Aurora, Ontario, Canada); Nephew David Gonsalves (Toronto, Canada), Nieces Allison Gonsalves (Montreal, Canada) & Melissa Gonsalves (Miami) & Meredith Gonsalves. She will be laid to rest alongside her loving husband at Arlington National Cemetery, with details to follow.
