W C Kent Sr.

W C married Martha Sapp on September 4, 1954, in Statenville, Georgia. They had four children, Nan Walden (Bo), Carl Kent, Connie Thomas, and Kimberly Fairley (Donnie). He had 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Retiring from Winn-Dixie after 40 years as a Produce Manager, he began his most important career - a Pastor, where he served at Cross Baptist Church approximately 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha; daughters, Nan Walden, Avon Park, Connie Thomas, Spring Hill; sisters, Jeanette Lewis, Carolyn Hancock, both of Wellborn. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Kent, Jr.; daughter, Kimberly Fairley; brother, Jack Kent; and parents, Jimmy and Matilda Kent.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
