Wayne Fetter Jennings of Lutz died peacefully on August 27, 2017 at the age of 97. He was born on June 4, 1920 in Remote, Oregon to Laurence Berryman Jennings and Eva Gant Jennings. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and proudly served as an aircraft mechanic during World War II, where he attained the rank of Technical Sergeant. While stationed in Florida at the conclusion of the war he met his wife Edna Brashear. After the war, he worked as a lineman and troubleshooter for Florida Power and GTE and was a 70-year member of the IBEW. This allowed him to pursue his lifelong ambition to be a beef cattle rancher, and he did so throughout Hillsborough and Pasco counties until his death. Wayne touched many lives with his wisdom and wit. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by two sons, Lawrence Joel Jennings (Anne) of Cleveland, South Carolina, and Edward Wayne Jennings (Tracy) of Dade City, Florida; three grandchildren, Scott Jennings (Claire), Matthew Jennings, and Emily Jennings; and three great-grandchildren, Meghan Jennings, Knox Jennings, and Parker Jennings. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Heifer International. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Blount & Curry Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL with burial to follow at Lutz Cemetery; family will start receiving guests at 1pm.
