

William Scott Cartwright, born March 31, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away leaving behind a legacy of creativity, intellect, and kindness. He spent many years in Massachusetts and Philadelphia before later making his home in Tampa, Florida.
Scott was a gifted architect and a partner of the Johnson Cartwright Jarman Firm, where he influenced his buildings but also the people who had the privilege of working alongside him. He earned his Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, a testament to his passion for design and knowledge.
Known for his loving and kind spirit, Scott was truly a wealth of knowledge. He possessed endless curiosity and creativity, not only through his architectural work but also as a talented artist. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and imagination into every room, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Scott is survived by his parents, William and Patricia Cartwright (née Wilkins) of Venice, Florida; his beloved children, Zachary Cartwright of Providence, Rhode Island, and Emily Cartwright of Washington, D.C.; his brothers, David Cartwright of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Craig Cartwright of Venice, California; and his cherished cat, Petey, who carry forward his memory and spirit.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and colleagues whose lives he touched with his generosity, brilliance, and compassion.
