

William “Bill” George Freitas, Born October 7, 1939 in San Francisco, CA, resident of Tampa, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 27, 2017. William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed a full life with his wife Linda and their two sons as well as a successful career. They lived in and traveled many places and made many friends. After retirement in Lakeland, FL, he remained an avid golfer and runner, but he especially loved traveling the country with his wife and their two kitties in their motor coach. William found the most happiness with his family and friends and got the biggest kick out of watching Linda with her sons and grandsons. He laughed when she laughed and that was a lot of laughing! He’d always smile and say, “Now, this is livin!’” Not a day went by without thinking of his beloved wife. He missed her so. He is predeceased by his wife Linda Ruth Freitas; mother Margaret Nash and father (Joseph Richard Freitas); brother Richard Freitas (Louise, surviving spouse) and sister Lee Cox. He is survived by sons William Anthony Freitas (Mary), John Robert Freitas (Jennifer), two grandsons and many friends. A funeral service will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home (Carrollwood Chapel), 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, FL 33618, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. The chapel will be open at 9:30 for visitation, if desired. There will be a private burial in Tampa followed by an intimate reception for family and close friends at the home of Bill and Mary Freitas.
