
LOFFER, William Eugene, entered life April 8, 1922, in Sandusky, Ohio, and he entered into everlasting rest February 18, 2011, after a lengthy illness and a short stay at the Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Fla. He resided in Tampa, for 15 years. He spent his career in education in the Niles, Ohio, school district near Youngstown, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1942-1945, After his World War II service ended, he took advantage of the GI Bill to attain a Master of Arts degree in education. He returned to Niles in 1963 and moved to Florida in the early 1980s. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Loffer, and mother, Wilma Walburn Loffer of Sandusky, Ohio; a sister, Donna Loffer La Rose of Sandusky; and his former wife, Betty Christy Loffer of Lorain, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Allen Salzer Loffer of Sandusky and Tampa; his sister, Peggy Loffer Marquart of Sandusky; a daughter, Patricia Ann (Thomas) Everett of Sandusky; a son, William Daniel (Marilyn) Loffer of Spearfish, S.D.;his grandchildren, Laura Ann Everett of Sandusky; Brad Christopher Everett of Sandusky; Nicholas Daniel Loffer of Annapolis, Md.; and a great-grandchild, Khira Nichole Shurts of Sandusky. A memorial service will take place Monday, February 21, 2011, at 11AM at the Village Presbyterian Church, 13115 South Village Drive, Tampa, FL 33618.
