

Soto, Yolanda DeArriba,90, of Tampa passed away on September 15, 2014 with her daughter, Sandy at her side. She was born to her parents, Jose and Minerva DeArriba in Ybor City on August 23, 1924. As a young girl, her family moved to New York City, where she eventually met and married her husband James Soto, also from Ybor City, and had their daughter, Sandy. In 1979, after 46 years of residing in New York, Yolanda returned to her hometown with her family. She was always known for her love of family, friends and her Faith. She was an incredible wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend and loved being a homemaker. There never was a day without music, dancing, or singing in her home. Most recently Yolanda was living at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Reminiscence due to Alzheimer's. The family would like to thank the entire team at Brighton Gardens especially the Reminiscence Team for all of their wonderful care and love over the last 3 years. She was preceded in death in 1990 by her husband, James Soto after 44 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Soto; nieces and nephews, Dr. Dennis Alfonso, Barbara Reeber, Frank Thomas as well as many great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 @ 11:00AM, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, 33618, with the family receiving friends one hour prior. Interment will be at Myrtle Hill following the service. Flowers are welcomed as well as donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Yolanda’s name.
