Basilia " Maria " Parra Perez

Basilia “Maria” Parra Perez age 95 of Taylor passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born on April 15, 1920 to Florencio & Cresencia “ Carrizales “ Parra in Taylor. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Faustino Perez of 54 years, her parents and siblings Celedra Bribiesca, Juan Parra, Nieves Parra, Francisca Carrillo and Maria Parra.

She married in 1935 and was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Gloria Garcia, and late husband Jose Garcia of Taylor; and Bernice Herrera, husband Geronimo Herrera of Floresville. Mary lived life to the fullest. In her younger years she enjoyed being a teacher’s aid teaching migrant kids during her summers in Berlin, Wisconsin and then working with the RRISD until the age 80. However, the thing she loved most was spending time with her 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation held on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Condra Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church in Taylor and burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
