Dwaine was born in Taylor, Texas on November 7, 1950, and was the seventh of eight children born to Frank K. Carter and Blanche L. Carter, and the youngest son. In his younger years, Dwaine was known as “Buffalo” by his friends and family. He served in the US Army in occupied Germany following graduation from Airline High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. Dwaine was a quiet, humble and private man, as well as a man of honor and valor. He was the youngest of three brothers having served in the military. If you were to thank him for his service, he would tell you that he was not a veteran of combat. Following his military service, Dwaine worked for Texas Instruments that later became Solectron, where he retired after 35 years. He married Letitia Traylor Carter on August 14, 1983, and they remained married for 39 years until her death in April 2022. Dwaine was a family man and enjoyed taking family trips when his children were young. In his retirement, Dwaine enjoyed taking care of his animals, gardening, fishing, hunting and simply being outside on his property. Dwaine and Letitia were ecstatic when their daughter Amber married Adam Martinka November 8, 2014, and soon blessed them with two grandsons, Colton and Kason, to which they were completely devoted. You could catch Dwaine at the baseball fields watching his grandson play baseball.
Dwaine was a loving son, brother, nephew, father, uncle, cousin and grandfather. He will be missed by all.
