

Richard “Dick” Henry Randig, 88 years old, passed away peacefully at his home in Taylor, on March 18, 2021, surrounded by family. Dick was born March 16, 1933, in Taylor to Richard W. and Ida (Tieman) Randig. He attended Wilson Spring School and graduated from Thrall in 1951. On June 27, 1957, he married the love of his life, Katsumi “Kitty” Utsuno in Tokyo, Japan while serving in the United States Air Force. They celebrated 63 years of happy marriage with family and friends last year. He retired from the Air Force with a rank of TSgt after 20 years in June 1972. He served in Philippines, Guam, Okinawa, Fort Worth, Korea and Laredo, Texas. He enjoyed working for many years at Rogers Exxon and Pfluger Tire in Taylor.
Some of his hobbies were to listen to polka music, dance jitterbug with Kitty, construct model cars, and most importantly sharing stories with anyone who would listen. He loved watching football, especially Dallas Cowboys, and recently began to enjoy baseball. Everyone who knew him, knew he would faithfully keep the scores of each game in his famous note pad.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers: Clarence “Butch” Randig and Melvin “Mac” Randig; sisters: Olga Mikulencak, Dorothy Mikulencak, and Laverne Stephens.
Dick leaves behind his loving wife Kitty, fur babies Mariko and Mitzi; Karen, Ashley, and Tobi Rutter; Sam, Dana, David, Cali, Dakota, and Addy Johnson; sister-in-law Doris Randig; brother-in-law Seiichi Yamguchi and many more nieces and nephews.
His chosen pallbearers are Donald Randig, Brandon Randig, Malcolm Randig, Sam Johnson, Gaylon Finn and Jason Mikulencak.
Funeral services Wednesday March 24th at 2 PM at Condra Funeral Home. A private burial followed at Taylor City Cemetery with Military Honors. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be sent to St John’s Lutheran Church in Thrall, Texas.
