

William “Billy” Stancel McLaughlin, age 84, of Taylor passed away February 2, 2015. Billy was born in Taylor on July 4, 1930, to Hugh Andrew McLaughlin, Sr. and Ada Elizabeth (Coupland) McLaughlin. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Taylor, in 1947 and received a degree in Business Administration from Southwest Texas University in May 1951. He married Danora Lee Zimmerhanzel on Jan 3, 1953. Billy served in the United States Marine Corp (1952-1954) during the Korean Conflict. After 30 years of service at Alcoa in the business department, he retired on June 1, 1984. He was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Danora “Donnie” (Zimmerhanzel) McLaughlin; his daughters, Christi and husband Laine Holman, Teresa and husband Tom Nemec, and Laura and husband Bryan Maloy; his grandchildren, Brent Holman, Gail Holman, Bradly Nemec, Kaylee Nemec, Julie Nemec, Rachel Maloy, and John Maloy; his brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Margaret McLaughlin; niece Julie (McLaughlin) Fleming and husband Graham; nephew Pat McLaughlin; great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor, Wednesday February 4, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm with a rosary at 7pm. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday February 5, 2015 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Holman, Bradly Nemec, Pat McLaughlin, Laine Holman, Tom Nemec, Bryan Maloy, Mark Hannan, and Michael Bachmayer. Honorary pallbearer is John Maloy.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
