Byron Wallace Blount

Wallace Blount went home to heaven on October 4th, 2024. He was born March 27th, 1937 in Tampa. He was a resident of Temple Terrace for 57 years. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1955 and the University of Tampa in 1960. He worked in banking for over 50 years. He was active in the Optimist Club of Tampa and the Kiwanis Club of Brandon and the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. He was an active volunteer serving on various Church committees, delivered for Meals on Wheels, and ushered at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. He also assisted with fundraising for the American Cancer Society and United Way. He loved spending time with his family, including time at the beach at Anna Maria, at Disney, Bok Tower, going out to dinner, or even just a board game or card game. He was always interested in his kids’ and grandkids’ activities and often came out to show his support. He always enjoyed a good conversation with his many friends and family members.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Sarah (Peggy), his sister Johanna, daughter Melanie, son Byron, cousins, two grandsons, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephew.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church, 420 Bullard Pkwy, Temple Terrace at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23rd.
