

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline Stokes Collier of Tampa, Florida on August 16, 2023 at the age of ninety-two. Caroline was a native of Wadley, GA living in Georgia for about 40 years before moving to Tampa, FL in 1968.
Caroline was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Henly Collier, Jr., in 1998. She is survived by her children, Gary Collier (Michelle), Caron Patnode (Rodney Lovelace), Henly Collier (Debbie), Lee Collier (Karen), Carol Power (Frank), Charles Collier (Margaret) as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Caroline was born on January 7, 1931 in Millen, GA to Wilbur and Ruby Stokes. She married Clarence Henly Collier Jr. in 1951 in Wadley, GA. After living in Georgia they moved to Temple Terrace, FL in 1968 where Caroline and Clarence raised their family. She graduated from University of South Florida in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She continued her education graduating from University of South Florida with a Master of Education degree 1n 1979. Caroline began teaching high school in the early 1970’s retiring in November of 1993 after a rewarding career of providing guidance and wisdom to many students.
Over the years Caroline was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Temple Terrace Woman’s Club and PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization). Caroline was accomplished at sewing and quilting.
Caroline was the most loving and caring person who always put others before herself. She will be forever cherished by her family and friends for her generosity, love and thoughtfulness of others.
A memorial service funeral is scheduled in Tampa, FL on 08/26/23 from 1-3PM, Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Terrace Oaks Chapel. A memorial service and burial will be done in Midville, Georgia at a future date.
