

Sylvia Midgett Taylor, 84, passed away December 3, 2021. Sylvia was born on July 16, 1937 in Brooklawn, New Jersey and came to Tampa at the age of 13. She grew up in Seminole Heights with her dear lifelong friends better known as the “South Street Bunch”. She also met the love of her life and future husband, George Taylor, who was her next door neighbor on South Street.
After graduating from Hillsborough High School in 1956, she and George married and started their family. In 1960 they became residents of Temple Terrace which she always called home. She was employed and retired from the University of South Florida. After retirement they resided in Cape Hatteras, NC the birthplace of her Father In which they had been visiting for over 50 years. Along with George they were very active members of the community for 10 years until returning to Tampa.
She loved her children dearly and cherished her 9 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years on April 21, 2011.
She is survived by her loving children, son, George (Traci) Taylor; daughters, Charlotte (Joe) Eppich, Linda (Jeff) Abramson and Melody (Tom Dostal) Kocsis. She adored her 9 grandchildren, Kristen, Marlee, Jeffrey, Joey, Dallas, Trey, Madison, Cameron and Hayden and her great grandchildren, Kali and Ella Myers. God be with you till we meet again. The family is planning a private service to take place at a later date.
