Nancy R. Weddle Kirkpatrick.....................As I reminisce our high school days, the graduate class of 1960 at Troy High School, our hearts are flooded with precious memories of our dear friend, Charlie Davis. Although after graduation, we all seemed to go our different ways, we shall always have the special memories of our class mates. As for Charlie, he joined the Army, and we are all so proud of him serving our country. Through the years, I would, from time to time, see Charlie at the convenience store in Troy. He always was so friendly, and always would give you a hug. One of his special traits was his big smile. I, for one, am so grateful that I had the opportunity to have known Charlie. He was truly a one-of-a-kind guy. Always kept you laughing. Such a great sense of humor. A few of our classmates got together at Roy & Darlene Tate's house just a few years ago, and that was the last time I saw Charlie. He, at one time, told me "If I don't get to see you again, I will see you in Heaven." The wonderful memories that we have of Charlie will be forever etched in our hearts........................SEE YOU IN HEAVEN CHARLIE.............NRWK

I will always remember Charlie as a kind generous person. He always had a smile on his face even when i knew he did not feel well. He was a fighter and fought to the end. Rest in peace Charlie. You will be missed .

When I heard of Charlie's passing, I remembered an old photo from my parent's yearbook I thought I'd share. My siblings and I mostly knew Charlie through stories shared by our mom and dad, and we had the privilege of meeting him in person a few times. He was such a kind soul. They had a lot of love and respect for him. He was a lifelong friend, and I know he will be deeply missed.

It always amazed me how this Troy class of 1960 stayed in touch with each other. Charlie was always happy...even thru the rough times. Included is a photo where a few of the class members got together and had a good time in September 2016.

Charlie...what a sweet spirit. He always enjoyed my kids on his bus and treated all of the kids as if they were his own. Even after they graduated he would ask how they were doing. As said before, he always put others first. I know he is smiling and celebrating in heaven.

Charlie was a wonderful human being, and faithful friend of mine since grade school. Charlie had a rough go with his health the last several years, but you never heard him complain. I was so impressed with his ability to accept his circumstances and continue to find peace that he was secure in God's will. He was such an inspiration and always thought of others before himself. So many of my days were made brighter by the texts he sent with riddles, and encouraging scriptures. I love him dearly. I will miss you, my dear friend. Now, you get to dine with Our Savior. See you later Charlie.

Charlie was My Boys bus driver for many years. We would occasionally see Him at Jody's and He would always ask how the Boys were. When I worked at May's Elementary, He would come and visit the Kids. The Kids were so kind and sweet to Him. I will always remember His smile visiting with Them. He will truly be missed.

So sorry for your loss !! Talked with him about a mth ago. He sounded good. I know he had been thru a lot. I have known Charlie a long time. We worked together got mad at each other but we would be talking to each other by the next day. He was a good man. But now he is out of pain. God bless him and God bless his family

Charlie was a great friend . When he came to town he would always come by to visit and tell stories about what he called the good old days .We would laugh and catch up on all the latest gossip. He would tell stories about when he was overseas while in the Army . These last several years Charlie fought a tough battle and I never did hear him complain once He had three great loves. GOD. Country. And Friends
I will miss him. Jimmy

Charlie was such a great person, he loved my kids. He would go get Ledgen to help him do work around his house, they would end up going to Temple and eat at Wes’ burger shack downtown. I think they spent more time eating lunch than they did working. 😄. Charlie was always so thoughtful and even after we moved from Troy, he would text me ever holiday and would randomly send me text checking on my kids. He was the best and my kids just loved him. Rest In Peace Charlie. You touched so many lives.
