Mrs. Dale Stanecek Dillard

Mrs. Dale Dillard, 93, of Temple passed away Wed., Sept 15, 2010. Services have been entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple and will be 11:00 am Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Dillard were the owners of the former Dietz & Dillard Optical which was the first optical and contact lens business in Temple. She was a member of Ave T. Church of Christ, the Bud and Blossom Garden Club, The Temple Federated Club, and a member of the John, Steve, Tom Ellis Family Reunion group.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hobart Dillard, a daughter Taddie Shaw, parents Joseph and Mary Stanecek, a sister, Mary Spicer, granddaughter Laura Preston, and great-grandson Joshua Preston. She is survived by her daughter Jan Preston and husband Grady of Austin, two brothers and their wives, Robert and Jeanne Stanecek of Temple, Joe and Mary Stanecek of Houston, seven grandchilfen and spouses, Judy Gabower, Peter Tilema Jr., David Tillema, Peggy Russell, Tracey Pineda, Doug Preston, and Jason Preston, eleven great-grandchildren, Collette, Kevin, Jacob, Kasey, Alex, Megan, Colton, Lucas, Logan, Lance, and Liam, one great-grandchild, Ava, as well as five nieces Bobbie Potter, Mona Mueller, Karen Scruggs, Sue Broadwater, Bonnie Holt and their families.
