David Commodore Nicholson

David Commodore Nicholson, 88, of Bartlett, Texas passed away in his home in Temple, on Monday June 9, 2014.

David was born the son of Franklin and Flora Owretha (Bledsoe) Nicholson in Weinert, Texas on June 30, 1925.

David was a member of First Baptist Church of Huntsville, then Bartlett, Texas. He was married to Bobbie Joyce (Deorsam) until her death in 2002.

He retired from the Texas Department of Corrections in 1987 and as a Journeyman Plumber years later.

Survivors include daughter Debra Dee Carner and husband Harry of Olney, Texas; son Bobby Scott Nicholson and wife Stephanie of Moody, Texas; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; John David Whitson-Nicholson and wife Kristin with Luke and Landon; Shay Elise, Skylar Elle, Gabor Adam, Caleb Scott, Emma Jane and Eva Margaret “Maggie” Nicholson; sisters Linda Senter and husband Roland and sister Brenda Hawley; brother Wayne and wife Geraldine Nicholson and numerous loved ones!

The Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning June 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home after a private family graveside service with military honors. There will be no public visitation. Family friend, James Fischer of Holland will be officiating.
