Doris I. Struhler Roberts

Doris was born June 7, 1934 in Konstadt, Germany. She married Paul Edward Roberts Sr. on Feb. 7, 1958. They moved to this area in 1970. She worked as the Food Service Director of Temple College for 28 years. After raising her eight children, she enjoyed being on a bowling team. She was a Lutheran.

Mrs. Roberts passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at her home in Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul on February 26, 2006.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Anthony Roberts and John Paul Roberts, both of Temple, Fred Mark Deiter Roberts of Troy and Paul Edward Roberts, Jr. of San Antonio; four daughters, Birgitt D. Hill of Wisconsin, Barbara Jean Roberts of Temple, Deborah Lee Tuckness of Junction, and Stephanie Marie Scitern of Lomesa; two brothers, Dieter & Crystal Struhler and Eckhardt & Ilse Struhler; two sisters, Evi & Jurgen Membriuf and Adelheit & Horst Jakubowf’ki, all of Germany; 27 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Graveside services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 in Bellwood Memorial Cemetery. Darren Rich officiated.
