

Born: May 28, 1923, in Milam county. She was the daughter of Rudolph and Caroline Hertenberger.
Dorothy was the only child in a family of 9 children who graduated from high school, Cameron Yoe High. She went on to graduate from Temple Business College. She worked as a teller in the banking industry for 40 years - First National Bank, Citizen National and finally retiring from Bank One at the age of 76 only because of a car accident. Dorothy also was a Stanley Home/Fuller Brush distributor for 50 years. Dorothy enjoyed life to the fullest and always enjoyed playing cards or dominos with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The most important things in her life were her God and family.
On November 18, 1942, Dorothy married Louis Abel and had two sons - Louis Abel and Don Abel. Her husband, Louis, died in the Texas City explosion in 1947. She later married Johnnie Vybiral on August 21, 1960, and they had one son, Johnnie Vybiral, Jr.
She is preceded in death by two husbands, one son (Don Abel), four brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Johnnie L. Vybiral and Louis Abel and wife, Laura, of Temple; five grand children – Lacee Bentley, Lana Standard and husband Steve of Temple, Lisa Abel of The Colony; Don Abel, Jr. and wife Debbie of Hewitt; Richard Abel of Dallas and eight great, grandchildren - Eric and Matthew Abel; Kirin and Thane Abel; Parker and Cooper Standard; Garrett and Gabriel Bentley; two sisters – Ella Dressler and Rita Mikulecs.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated being made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church homebound program, Senior Care of Marlandwood East or Scott & White Hospice.
