Judith Marie Brackin

A simple memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday June 5th at St Luke’s Catholic Church. Father James of St. Luke's will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple,Tx.

Judy was born Judith Marie Rouse in El Paso on March 5, 1938 and graduated from Ysleta High School. Judy was married to Weldon (Hal) Brackin on September 23, 1982. They were married for 31 and a half blissful years.

Judy worked as an executive secretary for Unocal Co. for 13 years and retired in 1999. At this time she moved to Temple, Texas in 1999. While Judy was a very private person, she was all about “family”. She was a loving wife, a caring daughter, a supportive sister, a loving mother of her 3 children, 4 step-children, and a “special” Grandma to her 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband Hal Brackin of Temple; her three children, Judy McCartney (Midland, Texas), Lee McCartney and wife Dana (El Paso, Texas), and Mark McCartney and wife Amy (Round Rock, Texas). Judy had 10 grandchildren: Luchia Langley and husband Jason, Gabriel Antuna and wife Melissa, Amber Fullmer and husband Harry, Justin Meyers and wife Cecilia, Darcy McCartney, Wynne McCartney, Joshua McCartney, Jeremy McCartney and wife Joy Anna, Joel McCartney, and Jenna McCartney. Judy was one of 7 children: Peggie Watson and husband Johnny, Mary Ann Thorpe and husband Gordon, Kitty Pearsall and husband Von, Arthur Metcalfe, Jr., Adolph Metcalfe and wife Lily, and James Metcalfe and wife Susan. Also survived by 4 step-children, Elise Marshall, Mark Brackin, Norman Brackin, and Ronda Gibson.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Marie and Arthur S Metcalfe, sister-in-law Jessie Metcalfe, nephew Michael Pearsall, and mother-in-law Anna Fisher.
