Nealy was welcomed to her home in Heaven Sunday morning, December 22, 2024 by the Heavenly Host and her loving husband of 63 years. She was born an only child to Cornelious Perry Huckabee and Gladys Adams Huckabee, January 12, 1935. Since her father passed away of cancer before her birth, she was raised by her mother and grandfather. After graduating from Holland High School she married her soulmate, Bobby Ross, June 1, 1953 after he came home from active duty in the U.S. Army. Because of this decision she was welcomed into his big family which she dearly loved. In January of 1955 they had their daughter, Patricia Dianne. Nealy and Bobby lived happily in Little River for 60 years before moving to East Texa to be near their only daughter.
Nealy was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. She loved her husband and all of her family deeply. She made sure her family's needs were met. She loved to cook and host holiday celebrations. She would invite the entire family into her home to celebrate. She would make sure there was something on the menu that each person enjoyed eating. She was a member of Little River Baptist church where she served as a teacher in the Children's Ministry for many years. Not only did she take care of her family and serve the Lord, she worked outside of the home. She retired from the Bell County Courthouse registrar's office.
Nealy Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelious and Gladys Huckabee, her husband Bobby Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cooper and husband Craig Cooper of Mineola Tx, two granddaughters Sarah Galland and husband Matthew Galland of Lindale Tx and Elizabeth Saenz and husband David Saenz of North Zulch Tx., two great grandsons Ian Galland and Jace Galland and one great granddaughter Rylee Saenz. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Linda Lewis, Barbara Ross, and Kathy Ross and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
A special thanks goes out to all of those who took care of momma when I could no longer care for her at Prestige Estates and Watkins-Logan in Tyler and Heart to Heart Hospice for being there with us when she made her final journey to her Heavenly home. You are truly the hands and feet of Jesus.
