Alice R. Peters, age 90, of Marshall, IL, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 in the Burnside Nursing Home in Marshall. Born June 19, 1921 in Madison, IN, she was the daughter of Howard Bishop and Elizabeth (Miller) Bishop. She married Alexander Peters Jr. on June 2, 1955 and he preceded her on May 1 1995.
Alice had worked at Eli Lily and then at the Terre Haute Holiday Inn. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. She loved to cook and bake. She was a very loving and caring person and was very dear to everyone.
Survivors include a niece, Diane Brewer and husband Edward, Indianapolis; a brother-in-law, Salvadore Collura, Indianapolis; a great niece Elizabeth Brewer, Indianapolis, and a great nephew Edward Brewer, Indainapoli; and a very special friend and caregiver Brenda Ellington, Marshall. Her parents, husband, and sister Mary Collura preceded her.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Services are Thursday at 2 PM in the funeral home with Rev. David Milton officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park.
