Anna Ruth Goodrich Higgins, 83, of Terre Haute, passed from this world into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2020. She was born on March 3, 1937 in Terre Haute to William G. Goodrich and Elizabeth Maxwell Goodrich. Annie graduated from Garfield High School in 1955. She had worked at Miller Parrot Baking, Chesty Foods factory, and Borden's. Later she worked at The Living Tree Montessori School in the Preschool classes. She loved seeing and working with all the children within her care. She married Billy D. Higgins on Nov. 20, 1982, and they enjoyed 25 blissful years together. Together they enjoyed mushroom hunting in the spring and walking in the Honey Creek Mall daily. Following their daily walk, they would enjoy breakfast at New Day Café, their favorite restaurant. Annie was famous for her Scottish Shortbread, a family recipe handed down for many generations. Annie attended The Life Center Foursquare Church, and enjoyed her church family. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy D.; and two brothers, John G. Goodrich and James E. Goodrich; a brother-in-law, James Higgins; and a sisters-in-law, Marcia Bland, Hilda Martin,Vera McGrew; brother-in-law, Lester Higgins. Surviving are a brother, William A. Goodrich and wife Linda of Brazil; two sisters, Laura Goodrich of Terre Haute and Ethel M. Landers of California; sister-in-law, Sue Foster of Terre Haute; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 2 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19, Social Distancing will be observed for both the Funeral and Visitation.
