Barbara Jane Alvey

Barbara J. Alvey, 67, of Terre Haute, IN, passed away on March 2, 2015. She was born in Terre Haute on June 5, 1947, to Hubert and Nola Dill. Barbara loved to spend time with her family and all of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, and The Newspaper Guild. Barbara retired from the Tribune Star after 40 years of service.

Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Tom Alvey; a daughter, Melissa Kiker and her husband Jimmy; three step children; and two grandchildren, Amanda Kiker and Holden Kiker. She also has two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Lily; and six step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family also would like to pay a special note of gratitude for her dear friends Kim Wilkerson and Peggy Landry for all the love and support they provided her continuously throughout her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Nola, a brother Keith Dill, a half-sister Karen O’Neil, and two half-brothers Mark Dill and Terry Etchison.

Services will be Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home with a visitation Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Austin.
