Bennie Towles

Bennie Paulette Towles, 68, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on February 14, 1949, in Terre Haute, to William Andrew and Marjorie Jane (Acuff) Towles.

Bennie is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Cooper of Indianapolis; four brothers: Robert Towles of South Bend, Virgil Towles and wife Donna, Mike Towles, and David Towles, all of Terre Haute; three sisters, Clara Clemons and husband Lyndell, Marjorie Doyle and husband Leroy, and Janet McCullough and husband Steve, all of Milwaukee; an aunt, Sophia Tompkins of Terre Haute; a special friend, Beverly Cooper of Terre Haute; her favorite cousin, Tommy Tompkins of Terre Haute; two grandsons, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Judy and Sandra Towles; and brothers Johnny, Jerry DeWayne, and Willard “Carlos” Towles.

Bennie graduated from Wiley High School in 1967. She was feisty, had a good sense of humor, and loved to cook. Bennie was also a loving and caring sister.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, June 10, 2017 with visitation taking place an hour before the service at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home.
