Betty Lou Michael

She was born July 9, 1932 in Bellmont, Illinois to the late Carl and Hazel Green. She married John Michael and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bill Green and two of Bill’s children, Cindy and John.

Betty was retired from the Vigo County School Corporation. She worked as a secretary at Lange and Warren Elementary schools.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Ron) Ellis of Terre Haute; and her son, Ron (Janice) Michael of Jacksonville, Florida. Her grandchildren, Andy, Molly, Willie and Lindsay; her great grandchildren, Emma Ellis, Cael Ellis and Brooke Michael. Betty is also survived by her sister, Ava (Ed) Riggs; and brother, Carl (Billie) Green; several nieces and nephews. “Mano” was blessed with and extended family, Shirley Garvey and Tom Barker and their families; and lifelong friends, Helen Horrall, Helen Pearson, and Doris Williams.

Services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
