

Sue was born on June 9, 1938 in West Terre Haute, IN to Fred and Mary Miller. She was a 1956 graduate of Valley High School in West Terre Haute. In addition to being a wife, mother, and grandmother, she worked as a waitress in her teens at a family-owned restaurant, and later worked as a cook for the Vigo County School Corporation and for St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. She also helped manage a family-owned business with her husband and sons.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Cheryl Purtee; her parents Fred and Mary Miller; her sisters Betty Hyde, Marilyn Slater-Miller, and Anita Miller; a grandson Travis DisPennett; and a great-great grandson Kingston Hughes. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert DisPennett, Sr. of Clinton, IN; her sister Juanita (John) Laing of West Terre Haute and her brother Fred "Butch" (Carol) Miller of Terre Haute; her children, Robert Jr. (Kimberley) DisPennett of Trout Creek, MT, Susan (Pat) Richey of Sullivan, IN, and Timothy (Beverly) DisPennett of Clinton. Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren: Dawn (John) Chaney, Daniel (Claudia) McIlhenny, Beverly (Scott) Wallace, Kimberly (Daniel) Evans, Amanda (Richard) Pruitt, Tiffiani (Nick) Stamper, Joshua (Maddie) DisPennett, Bobbie Jo (James) Stewart, Jack DisPennett, Aimee (Bubba) Clark, Jessica (Tommy) Hughes, Micaiah (Brandon) Yetter, and Faith (Tyler) Gateley.
In addition to the children and grandchildren listed above, Bob and Sue's legacy includes 41 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren with one on the way. Bob and Sue also have a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Roselawn Cemetery located at 7500 N Clinton St. in Terre Haute, IN on Monday November 27, 2023 from 4-8 pm, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 917 S. 5th St. in Clinton, IN. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate a "Life Well Lived."
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Clinton.
