
Carolyn Hickman Leonard, 79, formerly of Terre Haute, Ind., passed away on Dec. 5, 2013, after a long illness, in Missoula, Mont. She was born on Oct. 7, 1934, in Vermillion, Ill., to Wilbert and Almerta (Serber) Hickman. She was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute.
Carolyn worked for the Terre Haute Gas Company until she married David Leonard. She and David lived in Rhode Island while David was serving in the Navy. They later settled in Ottawa, Ill., until David retired from teaching. They made the move to Montana, where Carolyn worked as a legal secretary for a law firm, and later for a physical therapy office.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Tana Ostrowski and her husband Andrew; a grandson, Dustin of Missoula, Mont.; a son, Scott Leonard of Terre Haute; a brother, Lester Hickman of Terre Haute; and five nieces and one nephew.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; a brother, Max Hickman; and a sister, Nina Frye.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Services will take place at noon on Saturday, at the funeral home.
