Charles was born to Charles and Kathy (Riggs) Elwell in September of 1926 in Vigo County, Indiana. He was married to Betty Marie (Vaybrick) Elwell for over 60 years before her passing in 2014.
Charles enjoyed walking, sitting on the porch people watching, and just being outdoors.
Charles is survived by his sons Charles Elwell III, Timothy Elwell (Daphne), and Terry Elwell; grandson Buddy; and sisters-in-law Billy Helechecoe and Barbara Foxworthy.
He is preceded in death by is parents Charles and Kathy Elwell; his beloved wife Betty Elwell; sons Andrew Elwell and Jerry Alan Elwell; and sisters Margaret Vincel, Virginia Lewis, Patty Niece, and Mertle Hamilton.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Roselawn Memorial Park at 2:00PM.
