Darrell liked working with his hands, making things from wood and enjoyed working in the yard. Darrell cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
Darrell is survived by two brothers, Mark Alan Waltrip (Penny) and Tobey James Waltrip (Caitlyn); five sisters, Sharon Rae Dyke (Wayne), Gail Sue Long, Debbie Jo Waltrip, Bonnie Jean Palacios and Pamela Jane Price; two sons, Darrell Waltrip Jr and Harley Alan Kirk; two daughters, Starla Jane Doss and Danielle Heyen; and one grandson, Landon Cole.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Brook Cole; one brother, James Raymond Waltrip; and two sisters Judy Ann Smith and Edith Irene Fiorino.
Visitation for Darrell will be on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
