Earl Ray McMullen

Earl Ray McMullen, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 16, 1931, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to the late John and Violet (Hamman) McMullen. Earl served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954, aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Roosevelt. He retired from IBM in Greencastle after 32 years of dedicated service. Earl was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan his entire life. Earl was a life member of VFW Post 972 and a member of American Legion Post 104.

Earl leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife of 62 years, Norma (Barbour) McMullen; a son, Tim McMullen and his wife Janet; a daughter, Bonnie Jo McMullen; a granddaughter, Tairee Jo Henderson; and four great-grandchildren: Jesslen, Emily, Phoebe, and Carter.

Visitation will be held from 10 until 1 on Friday, June 27 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at a later date, with Pastor Linda Smock officiating. Earl will be inurned in Roselawn Memorial Park’- with military rites performed by VFW Post 972. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
