

Elsie McCullough, 69, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at her home. She was born on January 24, 1946, in Cincinnati, OH, to Eli Bowling and Berta (Proffit) Smedler. She married Clyde McCullough in 1975.
Elsie graduated from Gerstmeyer High School. She worked as a Unit Secretary for Union Hospital and retired after 25 years of service. She liked to help others and took care of elderly people in their homes after she retired. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, and making beaded jewelry. She was a Mary Kay Consultant. Elsie was a strong, independent woman. She doted on her three little dogs, Scooter, Mickey, and Chewe.
Elsie is survived by her daughter Brenda Whitten and boyfriend Sam McBride of Sullivan; grandchildren, Jordon Bowling of Sullivan, Destinee Viles of Linton, Heaven Owens and husband Aaron of Memphis, TN, and Ivy Viles of Memphis, TN; great-grandchildren, Nateara Bowling and Cadence Owens; a brother, Eli Bowling of Terre Haute; sisters, Linda Hall and husband Bill of Terre Haute, Flora Piper and husband David of Terre Haute, Dorothy Kutch of Prairie Creek, and Cheryl Fields and husband Charles of Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister Rosalee Lowe.
Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
