Evelyn Vera Perkins

She worked hard and held several jobs throughout her life. For years Evelyn and her husband, Marvin, owned a little grocery store in Cardona, Indiana. She loved setting up at flea markets, going to the casino, traveling, watching the hummingbirds, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Allen; her husband, Marvin Perkins; and her brother, Paul Leroy Allen.

She is survived by five children, Michael (Bonnie) Perkins, Judy (Wayne) Overstreet, Alice Hasler, Penny Perkins, and Marquetta Anderson; grandchildren, Jamey (Tabatha) Perkins, Michelle (Richard) Rasey, Michael (Sandra) Perkins, Natalie (David) McClelland, Dustin (April) Perkins, Shawn (Aimee) Bolinger, Steven (Nicki) Bolinger, Aaron (Tara) Hasler, Matthew (Karyn) Hasler, Ashley (Adam Longshore) Hasler, Mark (Amanda) Lebrun, Heath (Rebecca) Cooprider, Britany (Patrick) Wilson, Danielle (David DJ) Slaughter; sister-in-law’s, Carolyn Freeman and Shirley Allen; brother-in-law, Gerald Freeman; and many great, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery next to her husband.
